13: Last Minute Advice & Blog Update
Dear All,
Â
Attendance at revision sessions has been very poor but I will take this as a sign that everything is going beautifully.
Â
Press
As promised, I have tidied up all the press stuff. There are now only 3 pages about the Press on the blog:
13 Press Main Notes
13 Exam Papers and Plans
13 Case Studies
Â
Can you make sure you work your way through most of this. Most of the stuff has been there for months but the Page called 13 Exam Papers and Plans’ now has advice on how to actually answer all the past paper questions. This should be essential reading.
Â
Broadcasting
I will try to post up a similar document for Broadcasting tomorrow. The Broadcasting notes are basically already pretty well-organised:
Â
Film Genre
I have posted up the past paper questions for Rick’s section. This is called ‘13: Film Genre: Past Papers’
Â
Â
Just to remind all of you, you will have to write two essays. You will go into the exam room and have a 3 part exam paper. You must choose two of sections and write 1 essay for each of your chosen sections. You do not need to write an essay for each section. Please do the topic we have studied:
A Broadcasting: Contemporary British Broadcasting
B Film: The Concept of Genre in Film
C Print: Freedom, Regulation and Control in the British Press
Â
It is probably worth looking at a real question paper before you go in. Here’s one: http://www.ocr.org.uk/Data/publications/past_papers_2007_June/A_GCE_Media_Studies_2735_June_2007_Question_Paper.pdf
Â
Ask any questions if you are not sure.
Â
Good luck
Adam
