Take a look around and send me a message. The easiest way to do that is double click on the post heading above (ie ‘good day and welcome’). This opens the message in a separate window and you can leave a message.

Dear All,
Attendance at revision sessions has been very poor but I will take this as a sign that everything is going beautifully.
Press
As promised, I have tidied up all the press stuff. There are now only 3 pages about the Press on the blog:
13 Press Main Notes
13 Exam Papers and Plans
13 Case Studies
Can you make sure you work your way through most of this. Most of the stuff has been there for months but the Page called 13 Exam Papers and Plans’ now has advice on how to actually answer all the past paper questions. This should be essential reading.
Broadcasting
I will try to post up a similar document for Broadcasting tomorrow. The Broadcasting notes are basically already pretty well-organised:
Film Genre
I have posted up the past paper questions for Rick’s section. This is called ‘13: Film Genre: Past Papers’
Just to remind all of you, you will have to write two essays. You will go into the exam room and have a 3 part exam paper. You must choose two of sections and write 1 essay for each of your chosen sections. You do not need to write an essay for each section. Please do the topic we have studied:
A Broadcasting: Contemporary British Broadcasting
B Film: The Concept of Genre in Film
C Print: Freedom, Regulation and Control in the British Press
It is probably worth looking at a real question paper before you go in. Here’s one:
Ask any questions if you are not sure.

Hello,
I would like everyone to complete an essay on ‘Is self-regulation the best way of regulating the press?’ by Monday 12th. By email if necessary. Please see the attached essay plan. It’s very detailed. If you find it cramps your style, please feel free to go your own way…essay-plan.doc

This essay should be completed by Wednesday 26th. You will have an hour for this in the exam so the length of your essay should reflect that.
What have been the effects of the 1990, and subsequent, Broadcasting Acts? (Jan 2006)
To answer this, I recommend you use the notes on the blog on the pages called:
13 Broadcasting Act 1990, 13 Broadcasting Act 1996 and 13 Communciations Act 2003. They are in a slightly funny order on the left-hand menu.
